Marching into March

That’s right, head high with a purpose I am taking on this month! And I want you too also. It is the soon to be start of spring and what do they say?

In like a Lion, Out like a lamb

Where does it come from? Folklore beliefs that there should be a balance in weather and life. So, if a month came in bad (roaring like a lion), it should go out good and calm (docile, like a lamb). #nowyouknow

Personally, March started like a wounded lamb for me as the whole first week I was sick with a head cold….ahem Thanks Steve ;). I really used that time thought to rest and to repairing my body and mind. Course when I felt better those discouraging demons come back. The thoughts “why didn’t I do …..” or “I should have ……” I am aware of those thoughts. I accept them. I am also having courage to over come them because they aren’t my truth. Truth is I did what was best for ME! And look at me this week, back at life like I didn’t miss a beat.

So if I could give you some words of wisdom, I’d be; “Listen to your body“ It knows what it needs better than your ego. give yourself that compassion and grace in this decision. ”


So if you have noticed a trend from me, good. If not (shame on me) But the message I like to send is “our body, mind, skin and spirit are all connected.“ It’s a wonderful universe of divine design that is great in its complexity and beauty. Thing is, it’s not really that complex. Sure the inner pathways of the body, the cell functions and hormonal influences and brain-nerve communications are super complex and interesting but… that’t not what I’m talking about. As humans, we try to compartmentalize things. Making it more confusing for ourselves but fact is, it’s really not that hard.

How we feel is a direct result of what we take in (Our food, Our physical environment (what touches our skin) and our Mentality (what touches our minds).

What I am doing with this newsletter, this website and how I’m showing up in the world is to debunk the complexity and get you back to the way you should be. What you are is a result of what you put into you. What something to change, not feeling right? Then you need to only shift one of those influencers. I know how and I want to help you get to a point where you can live your fullest self. Stepping into your purpose. Because I know you have one, we all do. Maybe you’ve just forgotten it. I know that’s what happened to me. I totally shelved my purpose when life steered me to motherhood. Actually, I’m lying because I’m pretty sure it started even before then. When exactly it started I can’t say for sure but I was disconnected and felt lost myself for a really, really long time. Its’ not important to know when or how. Because that doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is that I am found and I am here showing up to be a guiding light for others.

March Health Tips:

Dry Brushing:

Why you want to do it? It is wonderful for exfoliating dry winter skin. It also increases blood circulation and promotes lymph flow/drainage. By brushing the skin you are also unclogs pores in a process of exfoliation. The sensation of the brushing also stimulates your nervous system, which…lives you up making you feel more invigorated and energized. Sounds awesome right?

How to do it: The best time is right before your shower when your skin is dry. You’ll need a natural stiff-bristled bath/shower brush. Starting from the feet/ankles, work your way upward in long fluid strokes in an upward direction. Our skin around the abdomen, breasts and neck is sensitive so lighten up pressure and go in circular motions.

Immune System Support:

These are just a couple things I’ve learned along the way that really help boost me up when I’m feeling down.

Neti Pot to relieve sinus pressure and for drainage.

Humidifier to keep the air moist and ward of the spread of germs.,

Garlic Sandwiches - garlic is awesome for bumping up the immune system.

Supplements: Zinc and Chaga

Lots of Liquids!! Herbal teas especially.

Vitamin D & Fresh Air

Movement - helps keep blood flowing and all systems working at its tip top

REST !!!! Most importantly, listen to your body. If its saying to rest, then REST is BEST!

Movement of the Month:

For me… I’d say getting outside and taking a stroll. With temperatures rising and the sun shining we have no excuse not to want to get outside and take a quick stroll. Seriously, that is my challenge to you. Everyday, make an effort to get outside for at least 10 minutes and stroll around. Maybe to the mailbox and back. Maybe around the block. Maybe getting out on your lunch break. But AT LEAST ONCE during the week just get out into nature and walk. There is soooooooooo much research that says the act of taking a walk outside dramatically reduce stress hormone production, improve feelings of happiness, allow creativity to flow, lowers heart rate and blood pressure, boost the immune system and accelerate recovery from illness.
