The Takeaway - Tunde's Year of Yes Ride.

So when I workout on the Peloton I tend to take notes of what the trainers are saying. They inspire so much wisdom for me and their messages are so uplifting, encouraging and supportive that I need to share them with my world.

Here’s what I took from today’s ride (which I only joined for the last 10 minutes, this wasn’t even the whole thing!!!)

We spend so much time making a living that we don’t actually enjoy the life, we forget to create space to just live.

Self-care is not a/the luxury. It’s the requirement.

You don’t need to earn it .

We are required to handle each day with a crown on and keep in our heads high to handle everything that life throws us. How can we?

And yet it’s considered a luxury to take care of ourselves.

Robin says “I can’t be revolutionary if I don’t take care of myself.”

We all wake up wanting the answers to all of life’s questions.

How can I answer them if I don’t take care of myself?

When our smart phones on 10% battery we run searching frantically.

But when it comes to ourselves…. we’re operating on 10% all the time! Why don’t we have that same sense of urgency about our body and mind?

Plug Yourself In!

Activism is the use of direct and noticeable action to receive a result / goal.

What if we use the same drive for self-care?  Activism for self-care.

What action would you take for the good of your soul?  Action to better protect the care of our soul. What self talk would you silence to better protect your soul?

What unavailable space would you make available to protect your soul?

To achieve a result.

Action to achieve a goal.

Taking this action

Then as a moment comes take the time to remind yourself you’re doing a lot. I’m doing enough. Those breaks and set backs are necessary to give more. In order to pour you need something to pour from. Remind myself that I am doing all I can. Take the time for reflections.self care soul care is not a luxury. Why not advocate for that.

Say yes to that.
