Thank you stove
I’m just taking a moment to really appreciate this oven. Not only has it turned on every single time I’ve asked it to but it allows me to cook wonderful meals for my family.
It is what it is and it does everything I need it to and I’m actually underutilizing its potential. It has probes and sensors inside, but I never use those features.
Isn’t that so much like all of us? There’s always a little bit more that we can do. It has convection oven setting so I could use it like an air fryer. It has these probes inside to monitor the internal temperatures of my roasts so I know when to take it out. It’s got so many bells and whistles
but
ita not the bells and whistles that make me love it
it’s the simple thing
dependability. The thing I love about it most is that it is dependable. I turn the flame on it and heat appears. It does what I needed to do. It lives it’s purpose
I set the temperature inside it goes to 360, the temperature rises, stays and cooks my food.
Now, taking a moment to appreciate that this such a simple device that we have in our lives. A device that through evolution we have come to “require” in order to get our nutrients out of our food. Because, couple ten thousand years ago we couldn’t (humans are only that old). We have adapted to learn that when we cook our food, we extract more nutrients and, thank the lord, it can make it taste better. Cooling allows us to enjoy this experience of consuming food. You can grill, you can broil, you can sauté, we have learned how to manipulate our ability to prepare ingredients so much. This is such a fascinating discovery when you start to take a look at what it truly requires. When you look at where we came, from crouching over a fire for warmth in tattered loincloth while living outside bearing the elements.
We were camping every single day of our lives. Outside with the elements. like wild animals do
That is how we evolved
That is where we started
….
That shall be our return. When we allow this greater connection with the earth around us. You’ve herd the reports of how being outside, with nature positively increases in longevity, fulfillment, peace with life, and yeah, your health.
All because we spend a little bit more time with it. When we go out and do the things that we were born doing.
Evolution has allowed us many great comforts. The fact that I can cook my meal on the stove every day. Is just wow! it’s just amazing
Thank you stove this morning, thank you for being there every day and doing what I ask you to do.
Thank you body, thank you this morning and every day for doing what I ask you to do.
Thank you lungs this morning for allowing me to breathe in and out.
